Hello fellow members! How are we all doing?
I'm a college student so I'm in between "okay" and "kill me now". The first two weeks of January are winter session for my school so I go back January 18th... 19th.... Either way it's the start of my slow descent to suicide! 5 engineering class and three of them are programming classes so
Just kidding, I'll survive and as for the rest of you college students out there... just hang on
Moving on! I've had some weird moments or glitches or whatever in this group where some artworks are going to the wrong gallery or some artworks are being submitted to the wrong category. It's a minor issue that can be easily fixed so I doubt this will get out of hand.
Next! Features! I've gone through the group's gallery once again and picked a few of my favorites
Artisan Crafts
Les Deux Tragiques by Undecidedness
This impressive light box is inspired by the ballet story La Sylphide, a tragedy regarding a human and a sylph. The box is well done with precision cuts and amazing details. When lit, it shows its true beauty showing the stars during the night time, the reflection, and excellent use of perception (you can see some parts of the landscape or the trees are far or just close by, this contributes to the amazing detail). I believe I covered this story during my AP Literature class in high school and had a nice group discussion about it. Check her page out for more!

Kylo Ren Cosplay by couhby
couhby reminds us that cosplaying is all about the fun and sense of achievement when finishing a project as well feeling joyful dressing up as one of your favorite characters. He sews up his own costumes and takes photos alongside with other cosplayers during conventions. Check his gallery out to see some more of his cosplays as well as his photomanipulation and photography deviations!
Sailor Saturn (re.) by bdrc
bdrc is an amazing photographer. The cosplays in the gallery are stunning and some even took it beyond much like the photo above. The black background environment provides emphasis on the speck of light on the girl. What's the motif behind the picture? Hope? Not sure but this photo is amazing. bdrc's gallery is filled with beautifully shot cosplays as well as photos of nature and architecture.

APH: Swedish Patterns by Monokanguyen
The style is certainly amusing, it reminds me of old colored comics or cartoons when I was a kid. The patterns and the color combination go hand in hand and the use of the bright colors conveys a friendly reaction. Check out her gallery for other works like this! I am very impressed with her style; furthermore, it's a good demonstration of Romanticism in my opinion.

Brilliant shot. Kinda funny how a figurine reminds me of Star Craft. Anyways, check his gallery out for more of this!
Breath taking photos of figurines, what's not to love?

Good ol black and white drawings. The amount of detail is enticing that it just beautiful then the additional blood makes it even more interesting. A nice portrayal of a beautiful deadly woman.

I'm not sure what to say about this one. It looks friendly and relaxing; I like it

Cinderella by Fuyunanzi
The soft bright colors are blended very well that perfectly displays elegance on a drawing.
That's all for now!
Forgive me if the last few didn't have much of a commentary but really, do they need to?
Check their gallery out! Add a fav, watch them, follow them and whatnot
Cheers,

RULES OF THE GROUP:
1. I know it sounds silly but don't be racists to others, like for example: If you’re one race & you hate another. Don't be like that or you will be taken out from the group.
2. You may continue to contribute, ANY kind of art form. I am however going to make a MATURE CONTENT folder. From now on, anything of mature content will go in that folder. Anything else can go in regular folders. Everything will be accepted, but please, put the mature stuff in that folder. Just in case we got some young people in the group.
3. You can now submit things folders. (ex: traditional art, digital art, ect) However, I would please ask that you DO NOT submit to the feature folder anymore, as I am going to save that for contest winners & such. So all is accepted, but if your work is declined, it's probably because you may have accidently submitted it to the feature folder. Just submit it again & it should be accepted. ^^
Let's continue to show the world our art & make our eastern cultures a better place! ,(A bit quoted from our co-founder ~sikandarnirmal cause I couldn't have said it better my self!)

11/30/16 Group Update - No I am not dead yet
Group Update
Hello everyone!
So it has been an interesting couple of months since my journal update entry for this website. Pardon the absence. As I had mentioned in an old journal entry I signed up with almost all electrical engineering classes and they demanded a huge amount of time for me. Due to the incredibly hard standards of the class I decided to cut off some of my "social media" life including DeviantART. I was confident enough that this group will continue to grow (even a little bit) and encourage more artists to submit their work here as well as to be recognized and discovered. I felt that it was not needed to write a journal entry
3/1/16 Group Update-minor change + Concern
Group Update
I hope everyone was doing good with the extra 24 hours, I know I'm not since I'm sick... Anyways!
First order of business! I have made a change with members submitting in the folders, I made a 2 deviations per day limit on everyone. Why is that? Well, it's only experimental, I want to see how this works. That and as much as I admire everyone's work I sometimes get overwhelmed by the number of submissions whenever I go through some folders such as the digital, photography, etc etc.
Concern
As some of you already know I announced an activity from the previous journal: :thumb591943677:
I might need to extend the deadline. Further
2/19/16 Group Update + Features + Activity!
Group Update
Nothing really major about this week's update. I have finished going through the old folders and relocated all of them to the new ones. I'm sure I moved all of the deviations I needed to move.
If any of you notices any submission in the wrong folder let me know.
I think I might have to do another feature journal for any deviations that was submitted but lost in those folders /.\
It's only... fair? Because I overlooked them and they didn't really get a chance to be picked by me. Not sure though, oh well, if I can then I will if not then I suppose I'll reconsider them for next feature.
Moving on....
Features!!!
Edit: I forgot
2/16/16 Group Update + Features
Group Update
Late update, busy weekend. It seems that there was a slight increase of "submission rate" in the 2016 folders ever since I closed the outdated folders. That's good, lets me monitor deviations much more easier. I have not moved 2016 deviations from the old folders to the 2016 ones, so please bear with me on that one ^^;
How was everyone's Valentine's Day? Good? Bad? Do you even celebrate it? Nevertheless I hope everything went good on that day!!
Moving on...
Suggestion
Since one of the group's focus is to promote your asian heritage, it seems that we lack the activities or spirit to make people promote such idea!
I was thi
